NAS funding enabled Creative Skillset to allocate considerable resource into supporting the roll-out of the new Fashion & Textiles Higher Apprenticeship. To ensure the correct resources were put into place, I was asked to undertake a research project.
This involved in-depth consultation with providers in England who has expressed an interest in delivering the new higher apprenticeship. Current practice was identified and reviewed with focus on three areas.
- Learner Recruitment
- Curriculum Development
Detailed feedback from each provider was analysed, identifying barriers to delivery and resources required to overcome these barriers. A forecast of potential take-up over 2013/2014 was also researched and identified.
The project resulted in a full report with conclusions and recommendations. Where possible these recommendations were actioned and the higher apprenticeship is now delivered successfully in appropriate regions.
